Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Assistant Curriculum Manager at HMP Eastwood Park.


This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week.


Day to day duties of the role

  • Effective leadership, motivation and delegated line management of the teaching or administration team.

  • Assisting with the recruitment, scheduling and utilisation of staff whilst assuring the quality of their work.

  • Positively contributing to the effective monitoring and delivery of all targets including but not exclusively, recruitment, retention, achievement, success, quality and attendance and the teacher quality management plan.

  • Working with the Curriculum Manager to ensure compliance with policies including the effective management of performance, grievances, disciplinary and absence management processes.


Required skills and qualifications

  • A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work. In relation to vocational teaching posts an appropriate qualification in that field will be deemed satisfactory.

  • A Teaching Qualification at level 4 and above.

  • Excellent computer literacy skills including an up to date knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Highly motivated and setting high standards for self and others

HMP Eastwood Park is a closed women’s prison located in South Gloucestershire. The prison is dedicated to creating a safe and educational environment for women, equipping them with essential skills to enhance their reintegration into society and reduce the likelihood of reoffending. The prison offers a diverse range of subjects, including English, maths, cleaning and recycling, ICT, beauty, customer service, hospitality, and art, enabling residents to gain valuable skills which can be used in employment upon release.
